the beach!

We had a great weekend! Saturday we got up early and headed down to Anna Maria Island for the day. The weather was BEAUTIFUL sunny and warm with a nice breeze..ahh i could have stayed forever! Cohen had a blast playing in the sand, chasing the birds or "duck ducks" and running from the waves. The water was still very cold so Eric and I were glad Cohen didn't want to go too far in! This was our first trip to the beach this year and I'm sure Cohen doesn't remember going last year. We talked to him about going to the beach but i don't think he had any idea what is was until we got there because he seemed pretty surprised to see the water and feel the sand on his feet. We are planning many more trips to the beach this summer!Testing out the sand with daddy

He just couldn't understand why the birds kept flying away while he screeched and ran after them. He would hold out his hand like he wanted to hold them... so cute. Showing mommy how to digjuice break........
Lately he has started putting his bucket over his arm and waving saying bye. I guess Mommy's purse must look like a bucket to him?

Softball

Eric has been playing on a softball league on Monday nights. Cohen really loves to go and watch them hit the ball he says "WOO OW...." about every time someone hits. Its really cute and he has a fun time trying to point out daddy on the field, and with everyone wearing the same thing its not always easy for him!

Puddles and Bugs

We had a few very rainy days last week, Cohen had been cooped up in the house all day. After the storms had passed and it was just raining there were puddles everywhere! So I put his rain boots and out we went to have some run in the rain!We need to get him an actual rain coat but this one worked for now. He wasn't sure at first and kept looking at me to see if i was going to tell him no...

as you can see he was pretty excited when he realized he was allowed to play in the water!
He really had a lot of fun picking the rocks out of the driveway and throwing them in the water!

This spring we have had a huge outbreak of grasshoppers in the back yard.. it's gross as they are everywhere! Cohen on the other hand does not think they are gross and loves them. The other day while we were out in the yard, I thought we would catch some and dump them out far from the house. I starting putting them in with a stick and he went up and grabbed one and put it in the bucket!

My plan didn't work very well because Cohen just wanted to dump them out and play with them.

Potty Time!

Tonight was a BIG night for Cohen. I have been saying for awhile now that I need to get Cohen a potty chair, so today while we were at target I finally picked one up. Tonight before dinner we opened it Cohen was very excited to see what it was and seemed to know it was his very own mini toilet. Eric put batteries in it (its a neat one that sings songs has a pretend flusher on it) Cohen was so excited he was trying to sit on it right there, so I took off his diaper he sat down and... PEE PEED! Eric and I were pretty surprised... so we cheered and made a big fuss over him for a few minutes. I took the potty in the bathroom and Cohen just couldn't get enough of it.. it was the funnest thing! He peed 3 or 4 more times he wont sit long enough to finish because he kept getting up to took at it and then thinks he needs to dump it. I went out to get something and came back in and he was dumping the tray in the big toilet and there was poop in it! Wow if I had known he was going to take to it this easy I would have bought him one a long time ago! I'm sure the new will wear off but at least we are off to a good start!
My camera was dead so I didn't get any of the excitement of him opening it and trying it.. this is before getting into the bath tub...such a big boy!!

Sick

Hi everyone, I know i haven't posted anything in while i haven't taken many pictures but i will do a quick recap of our past couple weeks.
Well the day after Easter Cohen was still running a pretty high temp. off and on so i decided to take him to the doctor, they thought he may have strep throat but luckily that came back negative. He was pretty pitiful for a few days still running a fever off and on. By Thursday he was feeling better and Eric's Uncle Pete and Aunt Ellen where vacationing in Florida so they stayed with us Thursday night. We went to dinner at a really great Mexican restaurant, Cohen was so funny he really liked dipping his french fries in the guacamole dip. He couldn't get enough.. it was too funny!


Friday Cohen had is 18 month check up. He weighted 26 pounds and was 34 inches tall and his throat looked much better. I didn't think he was going to have to get any shots this visit but he did have to get one :( he wasn't too happy after that but he quickly forgot about it and was a very good boy. He doesn't go back for a check up until he TWO i cant believe how fast hes growing up!

When we left a friend of mine called and wanted to know if i could pick up her son from school and take him to the horse show to practice. He was showing a couple ponies that weekend and had to be there and she was stuck at home with a stomach bug that her kids had earlier that week. So Cohen and i turned around picked up her kids and headed to Tampa. We spent most of the day their riding around in the golf cart (thank God for that thing!) Her daughter is two weeks older than Cohen. They were so cute together but was it wasn't easy trying to keep up with both of them!

So Sunday Cohen woke up drank his juice like he does every morning and about 2 minutes later throws it up all over the place! All day the poor little guy couldn't keep anything down. By Tuesday he was finally getting back back to him self again so the rest of our week has been pretty quite. Wow that was long sorry i bore everyone but i didn't really have much else to post! Hopefully this weekend will be better and i will have some fun times to share!
