september 2010
I'm finally posting for September...our first month with baby Cale :) I cant believe how fast the days go by! Cale has been a dream baby.. i told Eric i could have 10 more babies if they were all like this one ;) He is so mello, rarely fusses if he does its usually for something obvious like he is hungry or tired. Cohen was the complete opposite as an infant! i remember people asking me if he was a "good baby" i hated that. i didn't think any baby was "bad" he was just a little more needy. But now i understand the meaning of a "good baby" which i still don't like saying it that way! Eric has had to travel allot with work, so it has really been such a blessing having Cale be such an easy happy baby. Cohen has been a very sweet big brother and is defiantly enjoying reading and teaching Cale things.. its very cute to watch. Overall he has adjusted well to having a sibling he hasn't shown any jealousy to the baby but of course he has him moments and acts out when he is needing some quality attention. Daddy does a good job spending extra time with him when I'm busy with the baby. Here are some pictures of our first month as a family of 4.. enjoy :)
We gave Cale his first tub bath outside on the patio so it would be nice and warm.. he loved it and i had such a good little helper! (ha think the flash was alittle bright to him)

Going for our first walk.. he loved being outside
haha Cohen spotted his kitty on the roof and panicked saying he needed to rescue him...Token doesn't look to worried :)

Our first official outing with the kiddos alone we went to the library and then down to the lake for a picnic. Cale was great and loved the warm air.

Cohen is all about super hero's and right now McDonald's has all the action figures with the happy meals so he has been wanting to go about every day so he can collect them all. This day he got "blue beetle" so he had to have him in the picture.

This is what he picked out to wear walking around the neighborhood...crazy kid!! ha he got lots of complements from the neighbors :)

sweet first smiles <3>
Cohen tyring to get Cale to smile... Cale doesn't look to excited ;)

Baby Cale is here!!
Well i guess i officially need to change the name of our blog now. Cohen has a baby BROTHER!! Cale Christian Richardson arrived on August 24th at 936 am 7lbs 4 oz and 21.5 in.
Monday August 23rd i went to the doctor for a sono to make sure everything still looked ok because i was a week over my due date. My amniotic fluid was low enough that the doctor wanted me to go straight over to the hospital and the doctor on call would assess me to see if it was safe to send me home. Eric met me at the hospital around 1:00... finally got to speak with the doctor he was not comfortable send me home because the fluid being so low and me already being a week over. Grrr..looks like my plans of going into labor naturally this time was not going to happen. Good news though i was dilated and already contracting some on my own so he didn't think it would take much to get me into labor. yay! :) The plan was to stay the night and start a low dose pitocin in the morning. Eric went home to grab our bags and make sure the animals and house where good for the night. When the next doctor on came in she asked if there was any reason why i wanted to wait till the am to start.. i said no not really i knew i wasn't going to be able to sleep anyways. So around 1:30am the nurse started the pitocin and it wasn't long before i was having some good contractions. I made it to about 5:00 and whoa worst pain I've EVER been in... the nurse checked me ughh i was 6cm. Decided my natural birth plan had already been squashed with having to be induced ...so i decided an epidural sounded pretty nice at the time. around 5:30 or so epidural was in place i could relax..ahhh. I called my mom and told her we started last night and she better get here in the next couple of hours. She took Cohen to mamoms ( thankfully she was back in town:) and got to the hospital around 730-8 am. After allot of worries with the baby's heart rate dropping with each contraction as soon as i was complete there was no time to waste. It was time to push.. after about 20 minutes at 9:36 am HE was here and was perfect!!
daddy cutting the cord....

He was soo alert just taking it all in :)

Mom went back to Mamoms to pick up her and a very excited big brother. He bought baby Cale and mommy a ballon up to our room :)

4th birthday party!
So with the baby coming we decided to have an early birthday party for Cohen this year. He of course didn't mind having it early and he decided since he is obsessed with anything superhero these days to have a "superhero party" The kids had a great time (despite the rainy weather) still got to swim and play out side. :)

one happy almost 4 year old...

He loved his super hero cake! i was going to attempt to make it but ended up having it made instead. This pregnant lady had enough to do!

listening to everyone sing to him....

He had a great time opening up his gifts..i think we have enough spider man and super hero toys to last a loooong time!
